Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia
Nous avons eu la chance de visiter une région de l’Australie bien différente de nos précédents voyages: le Nord-Ouest Australien. Un heureux mélange entre les terres désertiques rouges, les paysages spectaculaires de l’Océan Indien et une multitude d’animaux à l’état sauvages.
Ningaloo reef
Le but du voyage était principalement de faire du snorkeling dans la barrière de corail de la Ningaloo reef!
Exmouth et le Ningaloo Lighthouse Holiday Park
Exmouth est la ville la plus près du Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area où on accède aux plages d’eaux turquoises pour le snorkeling, la pêche et le surf. Les trois raisons d’être des habitants de la place!
Nous sommes restés dans un petit shack de pêche aux commodités minimales qui est situé au pied du « Lighthouse ».
On a profité de cet endroit retiré perché au haut d’une colline pour admirer de superbes couchers de soleil et de majestueux ciels étoilés (comme il n’y avait absolument aucune lumière, il y en a qui se sont gâtés dans les Tim tam!!)
La plage, la pêche, la belle vie quoi!!
Malgré de multiples tentatives de pêche, tout ce qui a mordu à l’hameçon fût 2 pieuvres! Et ce n’est pas une histoire de pêche, on vous racontera ça!!
Des animaux sauvages, en voulez-vous? En vlà!!!
Un dugong! Après avoir fait leur connaissance à l’aquarium de Sydney, nous avons eu la chance de voir plusieurs dugongs à l’état sauvage, un privilège apparement très rare étant donné leur tempérament très timide et furtif!!

Le roi de notre périple est sans équivoque: le requin-baleine!!!
Nous avons pris la large avec l’équipe d’Eco-Adventure Tour, une équipe très dynamique et professionnel qui offre une expérience unique en minimisant l’impact sur l’écosystème.
En route vers le bateau Altitude 22 
On a commencé la journée avec un snorkeling sur la reef pour tester notre équipement.
Edouard est « Whale-shark ready »!!
Anto et Daddy-boy aussi!!
Même Lélé a eu droit à son moment sous l’eau avec les poissons!!
Un petit reef-shark (bien inoffensif)!! 
On a même eu la chance de voir les premières baleines à bosse de la saison!
Ensuite, on se prépare à notre plongée avec le plus gros poisson de l’océan!!!

pendant que le pilote de l’ultra-léger nous repère les requin-baleines
À l’approche du requin-baleine…
…le premier des deux groupes entre dans l’eau…
…dès qu’on est au niveau de sa nageoire, on commence à nager avec lui…
… et on sourit à la caméra!
Ici, on voit Antoine qui nous a surpris avec ses aptitudes de nage! Good job Anto!
Mel et Édouard qui sont vraiment contents de leur expérience!!
Même le poisson de la famille a eu sa photo avec le requin de 6 mètres!
Edouard a même été surpris par le requin qui a décidé de faire demi-tour sur lui! Ouf, une chance que ça mange juste du planctons ces grosses bêtes là!! Bien esquivé Ed!
Après environ 10 minutes de nage, le bateau largue le groupe 2 avant de ramasser le groupe 1 et ainsi de suite.
Nous avons eu le privilège de nager avec 2 requins pour un total de 90 minutes! On n’aurait pas pu demander mieux!
On a fini ça avec un 2e snorkling sur la reef, un bon dîner et un petit drink sur le toit du bateau!
