School leave à la Gold Coast!!!

Déjà le 3rd term de l’école fini!! Ed et Antoine ont bien mérité leurs 2 semaines de vacances. Nous aussi je dois dire!!! Les premiers 3 mois à Melbourne ont été intenses, mais on peut maintenant dire que la période d’adaptation est passée. On commence à profiter du quotidien ici.

Dans l’état de Victoria, l’année scolaire est conçue de sorte que les enfants profitent de 2 semaines de vacances entre chacune des 4 étapes et ont 5 semaines durant la période d’été (qui comprend les vacances de Noël).

 

Notre premier School Leave

La famille avait envie de chaleur et de surf. Nous nous sommes donc rendu plus au Nord dans l’état de Queensland sur la côte Est australienne: la Gold Coast.

 

2 heures d’avion plus tard…

Première constatation durant le vol: une énorme partie de la côte Est de l’Australie est bordée de magnifiques plages sur quasiment toute sa longueur. Pas surprenant qu’on ait l’impression d’être les seuls sur notre bout de plage!

Vue de notre balcon au 15e étage. L’emplacement était idéal: quelques minutes à pieds de la plage, des bons cafés, resto et du supermarché. Le matin on pouvait même y voir des baleines qui sautaient au loin!!! Un spectacle inespéré!!!
Pas de temps à perdre à l’arrivée, une première saucette au coucher du soleil. Bien que l’océan était un peu plus froid que prévu, le sable doux et blond et la beauté du paysage nous mettaient en confiance pour la suite.

Les grands classiques sur la plage…

Un bon moyen de passer le temps est évidemment le bon vieux château de sable!
S’improviser une game de ballon avec les enfants des alentours
S’enterrer dans le sable…

 

Faire la sieste sur la plage…
Et évidemment, jouer dans les vagues…

Et le surf!!!!!!!!!!!

Bon! On doit dire qu’on a dû se rendre à l’évidence en toute humilité: bonyieu que c’est pas facile!!!   Bien des facteurs n’ont pas aidé (en plus du fait qu’on avait de grandes attentes), les vagues et le courant étaient vraiment forts, on passait la majorité de notre temps à essayer de se rendre au bon spot pour attraper les vagues, et comme il ne faisait pas si chaud, on ne restait pas si longtemps dans l’eau.

Comme on est persévérant, on a quand même réussi à se lever sur la planche assez longtemps  pour prendre des photos!!!
